Dear Friends and supporters, We hope you are well and enjoying the summer weather. Some of you will have heard via an email from CMS that our plans have had to change. We were planning to relocate to Uganda at the end of 2013 to work with Opportunity International a Christian micro-finance NGO, based out of their office in Kampala. Due to changes in immigration law, we have recently been strongly advised by an Immigration lawyer to postpone our move to Uganda another 15 months until after April 2015, when Efraim can receive UK citizenship. At present Efraim has an excellent settlement visa, which he risks losing by moving abroad. Both CMS and Opportunity International unanimously agree this is an important issue to resolve as it could cause unnecessary complications for us as a family long-term. As originally planned Efraim will start his secondment with Opportunity International in October. He will now be based out of their office in Oxford and will be travelling out to Africa on a regular basis. Ruth will continue her MA studies in Mission and Development at All Nations Christian College, Hertfordshire where Max is settled in morning crèche. She will also be doing part-time breastfeeding counselling work, collecting practical experience for the Lactation Consultant exam she is working towards. We hope to move to Oxfordshire around April to be nearer the Opportunity International office. Once Efraim has gained UK citizenship, we then plan to take up a posting overseas as originally planned. Please do pray for us as we adjust to this unexpected delay. This week we will be flying out to Brazil to see family and also lead a mission team from St Aldates church, Oxford who will be spending 12 days with the church in Porto Alegre. We would really appreciate your prayers for the logistics of this and that it is a really blessed time. We also would very much appreciate your prayers for the practicalities of long flights with a two year old. Principally a 10 hour day-time flight this Friday (26th). Our other flight days are 31st July, 12th August and 3rd September. Thank you so much for your continuing support and prayers.
